The nonprofit accelerator is a suite of sample applications built on Common Data Model for Nonprofits and Microsoft Dataverse. It empowers nonprofit organizations and Microsoft partners to build applications centered on fundraising, award management, program delivery, and program impact. The accelerator includes case management, project management and program delivery, award management, fundraising, volunteer and additional schema to extend forward. It includes sample apps, sample data, dashboards, the Common Data Model for Nonprofit schema, and technical documentation.

In the previous release wave, we continued to evolve Common Data Model for Nonprofits and the nonprofit accelerator at a rapid pace. Integration of Common Data Model with international data standards like the global International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) enables program-centered nonprofits to set program goals, track results, and more easily report on impact. In December 2020, we extended Common Data Model for Nonprofits and launched new sample apps in the areas of assessment management, volunteer management, and frontline humanitarian logistics.

For the 2021 release wave 1, we continue deepening the integration between Common Data Model for Nonprofits and Fundraising and Engagement. Our May 2021 upgrade of Fundraising and Engagement includes significant security and compliance enhancements, redesigned one-time and recurring payment management, and integration with LinkedIn Sales Navigator. In June, we launched a Volunteer Management preview and introduced a new model-driven Power Apps application built on the Common Data Model for Nonprofits volunteer data schema.
