Add and maintain your skills

Use the Competencies page to add or maintain information about skills that you possess or skills that you expect to achieve. Skills that you enter are available in broad skill searches in your company or organization. This is useful, for example, if your company or organization searches for someone who is qualified to perform a certain task, participate in a work group, or fill a specific position.

Depending on your role or the privileges that are assigned to you, you might need to go to your Employee services site before you complete the procedures in this topic.
View a skill
Click Personal information on the top link bar, and then click Competencies on the Quick Launch.
On the Skills FastTab, click a skill link to view detailed information about the skill.
Add a skill to your employee record
Click Personal information on the top link bar, and then click Competencies on the Quick Launch.
On the Skills FastTab, click Add to display the New skill page.
Select the skill to add to your record.
Select the level that you have achieved in the skill.
Enter the date when you reached the level that you selected in step 4.
Select the Approved check box if the skill was approved.
Select the person who approved the skill.
In the Examiner field, select the person who verified that you have achieved the skill at the level that you entered in step 4.
Click Save and close.
Modify a skill
Click Personal information on the top link bar, and then click Competencies on the Quick Launch.
On the Skills FastTab, select the skill to modify.
Click Edit.
Modify or enter information in the necessary fields and then click Save and close.
Delete a skill
Click Personal information on the top link bar, and then click Competencies on the Quick Launch.
On the Skills FastTab, select the skill to delete and then click Remove.
