Create a letter of guarantee request for a new project

A letter of guarantee can be issued for a new project between a principal and beneficiary. After the project has been created, the principal can create a letter of guarantee request for the vendor and submit it to the bank. When the bank receives and approves the request, the letter of guarantee is issued to the beneficiary. For more information, see About letter of guarantee and Activate the letter of guarantee.

Create a new project

Use the Projects form to create a new project with the Bank document type as Letter of guarantee.

  1. Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects.

  2. In the New group, click Project to open the Create project form.

  3. In the Project type field, select Time and material.

  4. In the Project ID field, enter the unique project code.

  5. In the Project group field, select the project group that the new project will belong to. The Project group name field is updated based on the project group selected.

  6. In the Project name field, enter a name for the project.

  7. In the Project contract ID field, enter the project contract ID, which determines the invoice and payment conditions.

  8. In the Customer field, select the customer account for the project.

  9. Click OK to return to the Projects form.

  10. Enter the required details. For more information, see Projects (form).

  11. Click the General FastTab, and then in the Bank document type field, select Letter of guarantee.

  12. Close the form to save your changes.

Create a letter of guarantee request for a project

You can request a letter of guarantee for a project using the Letter of guarantee form. After you create a request, you can submit the request to the bank for approval.

  1. In the Projects form, click the Project tab, and then click Letter of guarantee to open the Letter of guarantee form.

  2. Click Request to open the Create letter of guarantee request drop dialog. For information about how to create the request, submit the request to the bank, and issue the letter of guarantee to the beneficiary, see Request and issue the letter of guarantee.

  3. Close the forms to save your changes.
