Access the Microsoft 365 Copilot for Sales app
Copilot for Sales is an AI assistant for sellers in Microsoft 365 that connects to sales solutions to bring next-generation AI and CRM platform updates and insights across productivity workflows.
If you don't have access to Copilot for Sales, ask your administrator to install it.
Access Copilot for Sales in Outlook
As a seller, you communicate with a lot of potential customers by email. Copilot for Sales helps you prepare for your engagements. It gathers information from your CRM system and Microsoft Office and enriches it with actionable insights, so you can be more effective right where you spend most of your day.
You can access Copilot for Sales using any of the following options:
Outlook desktop
While drafting an email or creating a meeting
Select Copilot for Sales on the ribbon or All Apps > Copilot for Sales (in Classic ribbon)
Select More commands (...) and then select Copilot for Sales (in Simplified ribbon)
Select Show contact or Add contact in the banner message (for emails)
Select Show details in the banner message (for meetings)
While reading an email or opening a meeting
In Classic ribbon, do one of the following actions:
- Select Copilot for Sales on the ribbon.
- Select All Apps > Copilot for Sales. In the pop-up, select Copilot for Sales. To add an CRM entity as a rich adaptive card to the email, select Search Copilot for Sales and then find and select the CRM entity.
In Simplified ribbon: Select More commands (...) and then select Copilot for Sales.
New Outlook desktop and Outlook on the web
While drafting an email
On the ribbon, select Apps > Copilot for Sales. In the pop-up, select Copilot for Sales. To add an CRM entity as a rich adaptive card to the email, select Search Copilot for Sales and then find and select the CRM entity.
Note
If Copilot for Sales is admin-deployed, the app is automatically pinned to the ribbon.
- Select Show contact or Add contact in the banner message (for emails)
- Select Show summary in the banner message (for meetings)
While reading an email
On the email action bar, select Apps > Copilot for Sales.

If Copilot for Sales is admin-deployed, the app is automatically pinned to the email action bar.
While creating or opening a meeting, select Copilot for Sales on the ribbon.
Email banners in Outlook
While drafting an email, creating a meeting, or replying to an email or a meeting invite with an external contact, a banner message is displayed at the top of the email or meeting invite with either of the following actions:
- See sales insights: This action is displayed if external contacts in email are saved to CRM. Select to open the Copilot for Sales pane.
- Add contacts: This action is displayed if at least one contact in the email isn't saved in your CRM. More information: Add new contacts through quick CRM actions in email banners
Note
The banner message in this scenario is displayed for every email or meeting that contains external contacts.
While reading an email from external contacts, a banner message is displayed at the top of the email with two of the following contextual actions:
- Add contacts: This action is displayed if at least one contact in the email thread isn't saved in your CRM. More information: Add new contacts through quick CRM actions in email banners
- Save this email: This action is displayed if you didn't save the email to your CRM. More information: Save emails to CRM through quick CRM actions in email banners
- See sales insights: Select to open the Copilot for Sales pane.
Note
The banner message in this scenario is displayed for up to two external emails per user per day. If you don't want these banners to appear, ask your administrator to disable them.
Pin the Copilot for Sales app in Outlook
To keep Copilot for Sales in view as you move through your emails and meetings, pin it so that the app pane stays open.
To pin the app, select the pushpin . To unpin it, select the pushpin again.
Access Copilot for Sales in Teams
Backed by AI, the Copilot for Sales app in Teams provides recommendations and information to help you stay connected to your customers, minimize data entry, and personalize your engagements to close deals faster with higher win rates. Get a deeper understanding of your customers' needs from transcribed call summaries with conversation intelligence, and take the right action at the right time with automatically generated follow-ups.
Note
Copilot for Sales is accessible within the Microsoft Teams mobile app. You can open the personal app, and use message extensions to search and share CRM records.

You can access Copilot for Sales using any of the following options:
Message extensions
In a Teams chat or channel, select Message extensions (...), search for the Copilot for Sales app, and then select it. This helps you share CRM records with your team members.
