3.1.5.4.3.1.4 Range Command (0x52)

The Range command, as specified in section 2.2.2.6.4, is used to generate a single GLOBCNT structure range, as specified in section 2.2.2.5. If the low and high value of the GLOBCNT range are not the same, or the range has values that are more than 8 bytes from each other or the low and high value do not share five high-order bytes in common, the Range command MUST be used.

If the low and high GLOBCNT values share common high-order bytes, these SHOULD be pushed onto the common byte stack by using the Push command, as specified in section 2.2.2.6.1, prior to using the Range command. The low-order bytes that are not in common are used to build the Range command.

For more details about the format of the Range command and its fields, see section 2.2.2.6.4.
