Stored Procedure Parameter Properties
These read-only properties appear in the Properties window when you select a parameter for a stored procedure in Server Explorer.

Identity Category
Expands to show the Name property.Name
Shows the name of the selected parameter.Database
Shows the name of the database to which the parameter is associated. (Applies only to OLE DB for Microsoft SQL Server.)Misc Category
Expands to show properties such as Length, Precision, and Scale.Data Type
Shows the data type of the selected parameter.Note
For SQL Server, this property can take the value CURSOR if this is a stored procedures output parameter.
Direction
Indicates the direction of this parameter: Input, Output, or In-Out. (Applies only to OLE DB.)Length
Shows the number of characters allowed for character-based data types.Nullable
Shows whether you can specify NULL for this parameter at run time. (Applies only to OLE DB.)Output Parameter
Shows whether the stored procedure returns a parameter. (Applies only to Microsoft SQL Server.)Precision
Shows the maximum number of digits allowed for numeric data types. This property shows 0 for nonnumeric data types.Scale
Shows the maximum number of digits that can appear to the right of the decimal point for numeric data types. This value must be less than or equal to the precision. This property shows 0 for nonnumeric data types.Position
Shows the position of the parameter in a set of parameters that are passed to a stored procedure. (Applies only to Oracle.)
