Retrieving MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid

The identifier of the queue (MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid) is a GUID that uniquely identifies the queue.

MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid is a read-only property that is set by Message Queuing when the queue is created.

You must call MSMQQueueInfo.Refresh before attempting to retrieve this property.

Note

If your application does not have MQSEC_GET_QUEUE_PROPERTIES access rights for the queue, an MQ_ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED error is returned to MSMQQueueInfo.Refresh.

To retrieve MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid

  1. Declare the MSMQQueueInfo variable for the queue.

  2. Obtain an MSMQQueueInfo object.

  3. Call MSMQQueueInfo.Refresh to update the local properties of the queue object.

    MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid is a read-only property set when the queue is created.

  4. Use MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid as needed.
