The following table shows the standard shell structures, with a description of the purpose of each.

Programming element Description

BROWSEINFO

This structure receives information about a folder selected by the user in a dialog box that an application created by calling the SHBrowseForFolder function.

CPLINFO

This structure contains resource information and a user-defined value for a dialog box supported by a Control Panel application.

ITEMIDLIST

This structure contains a list of item identifiers.

NEWCPLINFO

This structure contains resource information and a user-defined value for a dialog box supported by a Control Panel application.

NOTIFYICONDATA

This structure contains information that the system needs to process taskbar status area messages.

SHELLEXECUTEINFO

This structure specifies an enumerated type that defines flags used with the IShellFolder::EnumObjectsmethod.

SHFILEINFO

This structure contains information about a file object.

SHFILEOPSTRUCT

This function contains information that the SHFileOperation function uses to perform file operations.

SHITEMID

This structure defines an item identifier.

STRRET

This structure contains strings returned from the IShellFolder interface methods.
