Generating Licenses
To generate a license , the license issuer uses the license key seed with the key ID in the Windows Media file to generate a key , and then specifies the rights. The license issuer uses Windows Media License Service to issue the license and bind it to the consumer's computer.
Each license contains the following information:
- The key to unlock the Windows Media file.
- The rights and conditions of the license. For example, rights specify the following:
- Whether consumers can play or copy the file.
- The conditions for playing or copying the file.
- Whether they can back up and restore the license.
- Whether the license expires.
- The level of security required to play the Windows Media file.
- The priority of the license with respect to other licenses for the same Windows Media file.
- Attributes , such as a name and description of the license.
