MSVidWebDVD.DVDUniqueID Property

The DVDUniqueID property retrieves a system-generated ID that uniquely identifies the current disc.

Parameters
This property takes no parameters.
Return Value
This property returns a String that serves as a unique identifier for the current disc.
Error Codes
If the property fails, Err.Number may be set to one of the following values.
Value | Description |
---|---|
E_UNEXPECTED | MSVidWebDVD has not been initialized. |
VFW_E_DVD_INVALIDDOMAIN | You attempted to take the value in a domain that does not support this property. |
E_NO_DVD_VOLUME | No DVD in the machine. |
E_REGION_CHANGE_FAIL | The DVD has a different region than the player. |
VFW_E_DVD_OPERATION_INHIBITED | Operation prevented by UOP command. |
Remarks
This property is read-only with no default value. The identifier (ID) number is not truly unique, but it is unique for all practical purposes. The ID applies to all replicated copies of a disc. In other words, all copies of a specific movie have the same ID. The ID is based on file sizes, dates, and other information, and not the BCA value.
