In this example, a method accepts an InkRecognizer object, and uses the GetUnicodeRanges method of the passed object to calculate the total number of supported characters.

Private Function SupportedUnicodeCharCount(ByVal pInkRecognizer As InkRecognizer) As Integer
    Dim result As Integer = 0
    Dim UCRC As UnicodeCharacterRangeCollection = pInkRecognizer.GetUnicodeRanges()
    For Each UCR As UnicodeCharacterRange In UCRC
        result += UCR.Length
    Next
    Return result
End Function
private int SupportedUnicodeCharCount(InkRecognizer pInkRecognizer)
{
    int result = 0;
    UnicodeCharacterRangeCollection UCRC = pInkRecognizer.GetUnicodeRanges();
    foreach (UnicodeCharacterRange UCR in UCRC)
    {
        result += UCR.Length;
