Configure Deprovisioning Rules

For this procedure, in Management Agent Designer, on the Configure deprovisioning page, you can configure how disconnector objects are retained, or removed from the connector space. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncAdmins security group.

To configure deprovisioning rules

  1. In Management Agent Designer, on the Configure Deprovisioning page, in Disconnection clean up, do one of the following:

    • To allow disconnected objects to remain in the connector space, click Make them disconnectors. During subsequent synchronizations, FIM attempts to join or project the object to the metaverse.

    • To allow disconnected objects to remain in connector space, click Make them explicit disconnectors. During subsequent synchronizations, FIM does not attempt to join or project the object to the metaverse.

    • To delete disconnected objects in the connector space and connected data source, click Stage a delete on the object for the next export run. During a subsequent synchronizations, FIM confirms that the deletion in the connected data source occurred, and then the connector space object is deleted. To implement this option, you must configure an export run profile step.

    • If you want to use a rules extension to perform deprovisioning, click Determine with a rules extension.

  2. To retain metaverse attributes that are provided by this management agent after the object has been disconnected, click Do not recall attributes contributed by objects from this management agent when disconnected.

Important

By default, when a connector object is disconnected from a metaverse object, the attributes provided by that object are deleted from the metaverse. If the metaverse attributes have multiple providers, those attributes will be repopulated, and the order of those attributes with precedence defined is adjusted.

Note

If you click Rules extension, you must specify a rules extension with deprovisioning on the Configure rules extensions page of Management Agent Designer.

Note

For more information about using rules extensions for deprovisioning, see the FIM Developer Reference.
