Add/Remove Buses Dialog Box

Windows Media Encoder SDK banner art

The Add/Remove Buses dialog Box, shown in the following figure, is used to set the buses that go to a single buffer. Each buffer can use only one or two buses.

Add/Removes Buses dialog box

The dialog box contains the following elements:

  • Buses available from synth

List of available buses. Select one bus to add. For a description of each bus type, see Buses and Buffers. Adding Stereo (L+R) is equivalent to adding Left and Right.

  • Buses in use

List of one or two buses used by the buffer. Select a bus to remove or move up.

  • Add

Add the selected available bus. This button is not enabled if there are already two buses in the Buses in Use list.

  • Remove

Remove the selected bus from the Buses in Use list.

  • Reset

Reset the Buses in Use list to the default state.

As a general rule, a buffer should have only Left and Right buses, or a single bus of another type. In most cases, you add more functionality to a mix group by adding buffers. For each new buffer you insert, a new bus is automatically added.
