Keep Constant Option
When you change the chord for composition, notes in the pattern remain fixed either to their role in the scale or to their MIDI note values. The behavior of notes in the pattern is indicated by the symbol (M) or (F) at the left edge of the Chords for Comp track. To change the behavior, right-click the track and select Keep Constant on the shortcut menu.
The behavior of the options is as follows:
MIDI Note (M)
Pattern notes remain at the same pitch if you change the chord for composition.
Functionality (F)
Pattern notes are transposed with the chord for composition and its underlying scale. For example, if you change the chord from C major to C minor, all notes on the third of the chord change to Eb. If you change the chord from C major to F major, all notes in the pattern move up a perfect fourth. However, in this example, if the F chord uses a different underlying scale than the C chord, all pattern notes move to similar notes in the new scale.
