Loop Tab

Windows Media Encoder SDK banner art

When you play a segment, it normally plays one time through and then stops. You can, however, set properties so that the segment loops one or more times.

Looping can be a convenience while you are editing the segment. Looping properties are also saved in the run time file and can be used as the default settings by applications. However, applications can change loop settings for a segment before playing it.

The Loop tab in the Segment Properties window is shown in the following figure.

Loop tab

The tab contains the following settings:

  • Loop Repeat

Number of times the segment loops. A value of 0 means the segment plays just once, 1 means one repetition of the looping portion, and so on. Select Infinite to cause the segment to loop repeatedly until explicitly stopped.

  • Loop Start and Loop End

Start and end time for the looping portion of the segment. For more information about beats, measures, grid divisions, and ticks, see Time and Beat Measurement.

  • Reset Loop to Entire Segment

Click this button to reset the looping portion to the entire segment.
