Metronome options

The Metronome Options window consists of the following settings:

  • Velocity

MIDI velocity (volume) of the metronome sound for the first beat of each measure and for other beats.

  • Note Value

MIDI pitch of the metronome sound for the first beat of each measure and for other beats. The pitches that are valid for a drum kit are shown with their instrument names, but those instruments will be used only if PChannel is the drum channel.

  • PChannel

PChannel for the metronome. If you select a PChannel that has been assigned an instrument by the current band, the metronome sound will be played by that instrument. If the selected PChannel is 10, the chosen pitches must fall within the range D# 2 to D# 7 so that an available percussion sound is played.

  • Count-In Bars

Sets the number of measures that the metronome plays before the beginning of playback or before recording begins. The pattern or sequence does not begin, and the play cursor does not begin moving, until after the count-in bars are completed. The default setting is Record Only, which plays count-in bars only as you begin recording. You can choose the All Playback option to have the metronome click during count-in bars for both playback and recording.

Note You can record material in a sequence track or pattern during the final count-in bar. For more information, see Extra Measures.
