Positioning Data in a Segment Track

Windows Media Encoder SDK banner art

New data is entered where you last clicked on the segment, or where you drop a dragged object. You can adjust the timing of an object by dragging it or by using its Properties Window. In many cases you can enter a measure, beat, grid division, and tick. For objects that must occur at the beginning of the segment, or at the beginning of a measure, position data is omitted from the Properties window.

The following figure shows the Properties window of a band that is positioned on bar (measure) 1, beat 1, and tick -1.

Some items that you can position on a measure, beat, division and grid include a Belongs To setting. Use this to associate the item with a beat other than the one where it is played. See Belongs to Beat.
