Rearranging Views

Almost every element on the screen in DirectMusic Producer can be resized and moved. When you close the application, it saves the current arrangement of toolbars and windows. You can also save and retrieve views by using Bookmark Controls.

The project tree and all toolbars can be undocked from their original positions and moved anywhere on the screen.

To move a toolbar

• Click on an empty gray area and drag with the mouse.

To undock the project tree or a toolbar

• Double-click on an empty gray area of the project tree or toolbar.

  Click on an empty gray area and drag to the middle of the workspace.

To redock the project tree or a toolbar

• Double-click on the title bar of the floating window.

  - or -

  Drag the window to an edge of the workspace. The project tree docks at either the left or right edge; the toolbars dock at either the top or bottom edge.

To display or hide the project tree or a toolbar

• Click it on the View menu. You can also hide a floating window by closing it.
