Erasing, Selecting, and Editing Ink
Erasing, Selecting, and Editing Ink |
Description of how to erase, select, and edit ink.
Exploit the power and usefulness of ink by enabling users to select and edit ink, including moving and resizing ink, formatting ink color and thickness, and changing other ink properties.
Designing and refining new selection methods takes time and requires intensive prototype creation and testing with users. Microsoft® urges that your application follow the recommendations below. This enables you to spend time finding solutions for problems that are specific to your own application.
The tasks of erasing, selecting, and editing ink should not interrupt users when they are laying down ink. One way to achieve this is to make these tasks available by means of explicit modes that are separate from ink modes. You can do this by providing one mode for erasing and one mode for selecting and editing operations.
Also, consider using gestures to support ink editing, selecting, and erasing operations. For more information on gestures, see Gestures.
