The Excel8CompatibilityMode property provides developers with a way to check if the workbook is in compatibility mode. Read-only Boolean.

expression.Excel8CompatibilityMode

expression   A variable that represents a Workbook object.

Remarks

In compatibility mode, certain functionality is disabled or functions differently. For example, in Excel 2007 there are more rows and columns available as compared to the earlier versions of Excel. Also structured referencing is available in Excel 2007.
