Before you perform this procedure, confirm that:

  • You have read the topic Manage audiences.

  • Your system is running either the Standard or Enterprise version of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

    Important

Audiences managers must have read access to the Shared Services Provider (SSP) administration site, and must have the Manage Audiences permission enabled.

You can edit an audience to change the name, description, or owner for the audience. You can also change whether audiences must satisfy all audience rules or can satisfy any rules. To create audiences with more complex logic, you must use the Office SharePoint Server 2007 object model.

The rules for an existing audience can be edited from a separate administration page. For more information about editing audience rules, see Edit audience rules.
