Manage permissions for usage reporting

The usage reporting capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 are available to site administrators, site collection administrators, and shared services administrators with the correct permissions:
To enable usage logging for a farm, you must be a member of the Farm Administrators group.
To enable the usage reporting shared service, you must have at least View Only permission to the Shared Services Administration site, and you must have the Manage usage analytics service permission.
To activate the reporting feature for a site collection, you must have Full Control permission or be a member of the Site Collection Administrators group.
To view site collection usage reports or site collection usage summary pages, you must have Full Control permission or be a member of the Site Collection Administrators group.
To view site usage reports or site usage summary pages, you must have Full Control permission to the site or be a member of a group with Full Control permission, such as a member of the Site Owners group.
To view usage reports for personal sites, you must be the owner of the personal site or a user profiles manager with the Manage User Profiles service permission.
To view search usage reports, you must have at least View Only permission to the Shared Services Administration site, but no services permissions are required.
Task Requirements
The following are required to perform the procedures for this task:
To add users to the Farm Administrators group, you must be a member of the Farm Administrators group.
To give users View Only permission to the Shared Services Administration site, you must have Full Control permission or be a site collection administrator for the site.
To add users to the site collection administrators group, you must have Full Control permission or be a site collection administrator.
To give users the Manage User Profiles services permission, you must have the Manage Permissions services permission.
To enable usage analytics, perform one or more of the following procedures:
Modify permissions for users and groups in the Shared Services Administration site
Add or remove Personalization Services permission for a user or group
