Manage solutions (Office SharePoint Server)

Solutions are packages (contained in .wsp files) that can be deployed to Web applications. Solutions can contain feature definitions, Web Parts, site definitions, or other customizations.

What do you want to do?

  • Deploy a solution

  • Remove a solution

Deploy a solution

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Operations.

  2. On the Operations page, in the Global Configuration section, click Solution Management.

  3. On the Solution Management page, click the solution that you want to deploy.

  4. On the Solution Properties page, click Deploy Solution.

  5. On the Deploy Solution page, in the Deploy When section, select one of the following:

    • Now

    • At a specified time. If you select this option, specify a time by using the date and time boxes. It is recommended that you select a time when the load on the target servers is low.

  6. In the Deploy To? section, in the A specific web application list, click either All web applications or a specific Web application.

  7. Click OK.

Remove a solution

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Operations.

  2. On the Operations page, in the Global Configuration section, click Solution Management.

  3. On the Solution Management page, click the solution that you want to remove.

  4. On the Solution Properties page, click Remove Solution.

  5. Click OK in the message box that asks whether you want to remove the solution.
