Recycle-bin-enabled: Stsadm property (Windows SharePoint Services)

Description
Turns the Recycle Bin on or off. If the Recycle Bin is turned off, the entire contents of all Recycle Bins in the Web application are emptied.
This property is equivalent to the Recycle Bin Status user interface setting that is located on the Web Application General Settings page of the SharePoint Central Administration Web site.
Syntax
The syntax for the setproperty operation is:
stsadm -o setproperty
-propertyname recycle-bin-enabled
-propertyvalue {On | Off}

The syntax for the getproperty operation is:
stsadm -o getproperty
propertyname recycle-bin-enabled
**\[-url\]** \<URL\>
Note
You can substitute -pn for -propertyname and -pv for -propertyvalue.

On: Turns on all Recycle Bins, that is, the primary Recycle Bin and second stage recycle bin. Deleted items are sent to the Recycle Bins. Off: Turns off all Recycle Bins. The following message is displayed when you turn off this setting: "Turning off the Recycle Bins deletes any items stored there for the entire Web application. Future deletions will not be sent to the Recycle Bins. Are you sure you want to turn off the Recycle Bins?" |
