This article provides information about how to back up and recover site objects such as list items and documents by using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 built-in tools and Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007. In most cases, we recommend that you use the Recycle Bins to back up and restore site objects. System Center Data Protection Manager and Office SharePoint Server 2007 backup and recovery tools are intended only for backing up and restoring farms, Web applications, and databases. When possible, ensure that the Recycle Bins are enabled for important site objects.
For more information about using the Recycle Bins, see Protect and restore content by using Recycle Bins and versioning (Office SharePoint Server 2007).
