Delete a SharePoint Designer workflow

When a SharePoint Designer workflow is no longer needed, you can delete it. Deleting a SharePoint Designer workflow permanently deletes the workflow source files from the site and makes it unavailable to users on the site. The deleted workflow is automatically removed from the list or library with which it was associated when it was created.

Membership in the Administrators group on the local server is the minimum required to perform this procedure.

Delete a SharePoint Designer workflow

  1. Open SharePoint Designer.

  2. On the File menu, click Open Site.

  3. In the Open Site dialog box, browse to and select the SharePoint site where you want to delete the workflow, and then click Open.

  4. In the Folder list, browse to the Workflows folder and expand the folder to see all available workflows.

  5. Right-click the workflow folder that you want to delete and click Delete.

  6. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the workflow.
