Manage crawling (SharePoint Server 2010)

You can perform the following procedures to manage crawling:
Manage crawl load (SharePoint Server 2010). Describes how to configure the search system to help prevent or resolve performance issues in which a SharePoint farm is accessed at the same time by users and the crawler.
Add, edit, or delete a content source (SharePoint Server 2010). Describes how to create a content source so that the search system can crawl content, and how to change or delete a content source.
Manage crawl rules (SharePoint Server 2010). Describes how to add crawl rules to include or exclude specific paths when you crawl content and how to specify the authorization credentials that are required to crawl that content. Also describes how to test, delete, or reorder existing crawl rules.
Start, pause, resume, or stop a crawl (SharePoint Server 2010). Describes how to manually start, pause, resume, or stop a crawl.
Add a file type to the content index (SharePoint Server 2010). Describes how to add a file type to the list of file types that are crawled.
Delete a file type from the content index (SharePoint Server 2010). Describes how to delete a file type from the content index so that files of that type are no longer crawled and no longer appear in the content index.
Reset the content index (SharePoint Server 2010). Describes how and when to reset the content index, and what to do after you reset it.
Install connectors (SharePoint Server 2010). Lists the default connector protocols and gives overviews of the Exchange connector, Lotus Notes connector, and Documentum connector.
