GetRoot (Database Engine)
Returns the root of the hierarchy tree. GetRoot() is a static method.

Return Types
SQL Server return type: hierarchyid
CLR return type: SqlHierarchyId
Remarks
Used to determine the root node in a hierarchy tree.
