Uninstalling Forefront TMG

Applies To: Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG)

When you uninstall Forefront TMG, the server is removed from the array, the SQL Server database instances are deleted for reporting and logging, and the configuration storage is removed. You may therefore want to backup the configuration before you uninstall. For more information, see Backing up and restoring the Forefront TMG configuration. The installation prerequisites are not uninstalled. For more information, see Preparing for installation.

To uninstall Forefront TMG from your server, do the following:

To uninstall Forefront TMG

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double click Programs and Features.

  3. Click Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway, and then click the Uninstall/Change button.

    Note

    Windows roles and features that are installed during the Forefront TMGinstallation, are not uninstalled when you uninstall Forefront TMG. If required, uninstall them manually after you uninstall Forefront TMGfrom the server.
