Adding a Language Support Infrastructure
5/10/2007
To build a run-time image that can process non-English documents, standards, formats, and applications, you must add a language support infrastructure to your configuration.
To add the language support infrastructure
In Target Designer, add a language support component for a specific component to your configuration.
The language support components are located under the Software\System\International\Infrastructure node in the component browser.
In the configuration editor, choose Settings under the node for the language support component. The language support component settings appear in the details pane.
Select the appropriate check boxes for the fonts, code pages, and keyboard layouts that you want to include in your run-time image.
Each check box represents additional dependencies on the corresponding component. These check boxes do not show whether the specific item is included in the current configuration. If you clear a check box in the language settings, the item may still be included in the configuration because of another component that has a dependency to it.
Note
The Support all system locales for English check box in the English Language Support component controls whether all English system locales are installed. If you clear this check box, no English system locales other than English – United States are present on your system, making it impossible to use some settings in International Control Panel. You may not be able to change the Language used in menus and dialogs settings in International Control Panel.
