ETPrep Commands

To use ETPrep, type the following syntax in a command prompt.

Syntax

etprep [/all | /delete | /flip | /reset | /?]

Parameters

  • /all
    Deletes the Enhanced Writer Filter (EWF) configuration partition and reassigns the drive letters of the run-time image and the El Torito or CompactFlash device.
  • /delete
    Deletes the EWF configuration partition.
  • /flip
    Reassigns the drive letter of the boot device to the drive letter of the El Torito or CompactFlash device, and vice-versa. For example, if the boot device is deployed on C:, and the El Torito device is E:, the boot device is reconfigured to E: and the El Torito volume as C:.
  • /reset
    Resets the Redbook/IMAPI service start value to 0.
  • /?
    Displays a list of command-line options for this tool.

The following code sample shows a typical syntax.

C:\>etprep /all 

This example deletes the EWF configuration partition and reassigns the boot drive letter with the drive letter of the El Torito volume.
