DiskPart Utility (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)
1/5/2010
Applies to Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2
DiskPart is a command prompt utility that you can use to partition a disk. The DiskPart utility writes the metadata on the disk that is required to boot a Windows Embedded CE image from that disk. You can use DiskPart to run scripts, and use it on larger hard disks to be able to boot from FAT32 and exFAT partitions.
For more information about how to use the DiskPart utility, see DiskPart Utility Commands, How to Create a Bootable Partition with DiskPart, and DiskPart Automation By Using a Script.
DiskPart Limitations
The following list shows some limitations of the DiskPart utility:
- DiskPart does not support extended partitions currently
- DiskPart will not format the partition volume with a file system
- Only Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 supports FAT32 and ExFAT partitions
