Multi-channel Audio via S/PDIF (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

Windows Embedded CE includes support for WMAPro, a high quality, industry standard, multichannel digital audio format. Your device can support true multichannel playback of this audio format by sending it using a Sony/Philips Digital Interface (S/PDIF) cable to a home entertainment center that can split the audio into its component audio channels.
You can use S/PDIF to transmit audio data is transmitted between components with no loss in quality.
You can add this feature to your networked media device (NMD) by using a Microsoft DirectShow Media Object (DMO) wrapper, the WMAPro over S/PDIF Packetizer, that converts WMAPro data to a S/PDIF compatible format.
To enable this feature for your device, open the Platform Builder Catalog, and then drag the WMAPro over S/PDIF Packetizer catalog item (which you can find under <Drive:\>Graphics and Multimedia Technologies\Media\Audio Codecs and Renderers) to your configuration.
The SYSGEN variable that is used to enable this feature is the SYSGEN_DSHOW_WMASPDTXDMO variable.
