1/6/2010

This section provides links to topics that contain information about Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies supported in Windows Embedded CE.

In This Section

  • Telephony API
Provides information about Telephony API support. This technology manages phone connection and disconnection and is required for call setup and modem support. TAPI includes Unimodem, which supports AT command-based standard modems.

  • Dial-up Networking
Provides information about dial-up networking support in Windows Embedded CE. This technology allows a device to access network resources from a remote location. First, a connection is established with the remote computer, and then the device, or client, can upload and download files.

  • Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE)
Provides information about PPPoe support in Windows Embedded CE. This technology provides the ability to connect a network of hosts, over a simple bridging access device, to a Remote Access Concentrator.
  • Virtual Private Networking
Provides information about Virtual Private Networking support in Windows Embedded CE, including Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)/IP Security Protocol (IPSec) and Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP).
  • Networking - Wireless
Provides links to other topics that contain information about Personal Area Network (PAN) technologies supported in Windows Embedded CE.
  • Networking - Core
Provides links to topics that contain information about networking technologies supported in Windows Embedded CE.
  • Servers
Provides links to topics that contain information about networking server technologies supported in Windows Embedded CE.
