Authentication Event (AE) (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)
1/6/2010
Windows Embedded CE uses an AE to represent the point at which a predefined policy (or rule) is applied to determine if a user needs to be authenticated. Every AE has an associated policy setting, for example, an authentication interval or a hardware event. The policy can be configured through registry settings, and is independent of the active LAP. Any AE policy can be changed after an application using the LAP is compiled.
For convenience, Windows Embedded CE provides predefined AEs, such as AE_EVERYTIME. However, the system administrator can also create custom AEs to support event-based policies that reflect the use of a particular device. For more information, see Installing an AE.
