Compact Stress Tool (Compact 7)

3/12/2014

The Compact Stress tool is a test tool in the Windows Embedded Compact Test Kit (CTK) that can be used to stress test a device. The Compact Stress tool uses a stress-mix file that contains test modules as configuration input when it executes a test pass. You can use the Compact Stress Configuration Editor to create the stress-mix file or to edit an existing one. The Configuration Editor gives you access to test module templates and test module types with which you can customize your test pass.

To complete a stress test run

  1. In the Configuration Editor, create the stress-mix file by doing one of the following:

    • Select the test modules to add to your custom stress test mix.
    • Open and edit an existing stress-mix file.
  2. Run the Compact Stress tool using the newly created stress test mix as input.

  3. View the results.

The Compact Stress Tool includes the following features to assist in the creating and running of a stress test pass:

  • Ability to create or edit stress mix configurations using the Configuration Editor.
  • Ability to run created stress mix configurations.
  • Provides modular level results.
  • Provides device-side log entries.
  • Diagnoses the device and output .xml files.

For information about running the Compact Stress Tool and reference information about the tool, see the Compact Test Kit Overview.
