Proxy Server (Compact 7)
3/12/2014
The HTTP proxy server in Windows Embedded Compact 7 provides support for creating a customized web filter on a Windows Embedded Compact powered device that can help provide security for an internal network by helping to prevent unauthorized users from accessing information on an internal network.
By including support for an HTTP proxy server running on a device, you can develop a customized web filter that uses Windows Sockets.
A customized web filter DLL can invoke functionality when HTTP requests are received from other computers or devices, and can block or redirect HTTP requests based on information such as the client that sent the HTTP request or the URL that the client requested.
After you develop a customized web filter DLL, you must add it to the registry. For more information, see Proxy Server Registry Settings.
To add this feature to your OS, see Proxy Server Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
For reference information, see Proxy Server Structures.
