Catalog Customization

The Catalog contains a large number of built-in features that you can choose from. The Catalog is also extensible, allowing you to expand the selection by creating your own features or by importing features created by third parties.

You can import Catalog features, such as board support packages (BSPs), OS components, device drivers, or platform manager transport layers, into the Catalog through Catalog feature (.cec) files. You can create these files with the BSP Wizard or the CEC Editor. Alternatively, you can manually edit the .cec files with a text editor, which Microsoft does not recommend.

Once you create these files, you can import them into your Catalog for future use. You can also import features, such as BSPs, device drivers, and boot loaders, using the BSP Wizard or CEC Editor. For information about importing a feature into the Catalog, see Adding a .cec File to the Catalog.

You can update the Catalog to contain new board support packages (BSPs), features, device drivers, or platform manager transport layers. For information about importing a new version of a feature into the Catalog, see Export Wizard.

If necessary, you can return the Catalog to its original state. For more information, see Reverting to an Empty Catalog.
