Custom Kernel Transport Creation

You can create a custom kernel transport for Platform Manager. After you write a kernel transport that allows the development workstation to communicate with a target device over your hardware, you can add your kernel transport to the Configure Remote Connection dialog box in the IDE. For information about adding your kernel transport to the IDE, see Addition of a Custom Transport to the Configure Remote Connection Dialog Box.

You can modify the timeout value for a custom kernel transport. The IKITL::OpenStream method obtains the timeout value from Platform Builder. To modify the timeout value, modify the IKITL::OpenStream method in the Sertran dynamic-link library (DLL) for the kernel transport.
