Obtain an Internet Protocol (IP) address and subnet mask from your network administrator. This address must be a static IP address not already in use on the network. Make sure that the subnet mask is the same subnet mask as the one for the associated cluster network. |

Determine whether or not NetBIOS needs to be enabled for this IP address. If NetBIOS for the IP address is enabled, it allows a dependent network name to be published using NetBIOS. If it is not enabled, the dependent network name will only be published using DNS. |
