Add an authorization rule

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To add an authorization rule

Open Authorization Manager.
In the console tree, right-click the role definition or task definition to which you want to add an authorization rule, and then click Properties. The role or task definition can be at the application or scope level.

Application level

Scope level

- Authorization Manager/Authorization store/Application/Scope/Definitions/Role Definitions (or Task Definitions)/Role definition (or Task definition)
Click the Definition tab, and then click Authorization Rule.
In the Authorization Rule dialog box, in Script path, type the complete path to the authorization rule, including the file name extension.
Under Script type, do one of the following:
- If your script has a .vbs file name extension, click VBScript.
- If your script has a .js file name extension, click JScript.

Notes

To open Authorization Manager, click Start, click Run, and then type: azman.msc
