Adding a DFS root target
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
Adding a DFS root target
Having more than one root target for a domain root helps ensure that if the host server becomes unavailable for any reason, the distributed file system associated with that DFS root is still available to domain users.
To add a root target, click the root and select New Root Target from the Action menu. This invokes the New Root Wizard.
Note
- You can also delete a root target.
