Message Queuing
Message Queuing (also known as MSMQ) is a messaging infrastructure and a development tool for creating distributed messaging applications for Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.
Message Queuing is of interest to both system administrators (for installing and managing the infrastructure) and software developers (for creating messaging applications). This documentation is written for system administrators and discusses management of the infrastructure provided by Message Queuing. This documentation does not discuss application development.
For the purposes of this documentation, the term Message Queuing server refers to a Windows Server 2003 family computer that has Message Queuing installed on it. The term Message Queuing client can refer to either an independent client or a dependent client. Both of these terms are used to describe Message Queuing servers that have particular Message Queuing components installed. Such computers are referred to as having independent client functionality or dependent client functionality. The following links provide detailed information:
