Change queue labels

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To change queue labels

  1. Open Computer Management.

  2. In the console tree, right-click the applicable queue.

    Where?

    • Computer Management/Services and Applications/Message Queuing/YourQueueFolder (Public Queues or Private Queues)/YourQueue
  3. Click Properties.

  4. On the General page, in Label, type the new label for the queue.

Notes

  • To open Computer Management, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.

  • A queue label is a string with a maximum length of 124 Unicode characters that can be used to identify the queue. For example, queues that accept messages sent by a specific application may all have the label "Messages from my application."

  • You can also perform this task using the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. For more information, see Related Topics.
