Create a role definition
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
To create a role definition
Open Authorization Manager.
In the console tree, right-click Role Definitions, and then click New Role Definition. The Role Definitions folder can be at the application or scope level.
Application level

Scope level

- Authorization Manager/Authorization store/Application/Scope/Definitions/Role Definitions
In the New Role dialog box, in Name, type a name for the role.
In Description, type a description of the role.
(Optional) Specify any operations, tasks, roles, and authorization rules that you want to include.
Notes
To open Authorization Manager, click Start, click Run, and then type: azman.msc
To perform this procedure, you need to use an authorization store that contains an application. The authorization store can also contain an application that contains a scope. For more information, see Related Topics.
