Uninstall Message Queuing

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To uninstall Message Queuing

  1. Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.

  2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.

  3. In the Windows Components Wizard, select the Application Server check box, click Details, clear the Message Queuing check box, and then click Next.

  4. When asked if you want to permanently delete the queues and messages created by Message Queuing, click Yes.

Notes

  • To open Add or Remove Programs, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  • When uninstalling Message Queuing in a multi-domain environment, wait for Active Directory replication to occur and check that the msmq object for the applicable computer was removed before attempting to reinstall Message Queuing on the same computer.

  • Uninstalling Message Queuing does not remove Message Queuing files from the \Windows\System32 and \Windows\System32\Drivers folders.

  • To uninstall Message Queuing on a computer that is part of a server cluster, the Message Queuing virtual server must be deleted from the node before uninstalling Message Queuing on the physical node.
