If you want an AppleTalk printing device to be reserved for users of the computer running Services for Macintosh, it must be captured. Capturing gives spooling capabilities to all users who connect to the corresponding printer through the computer running Services for Macintosh.
Releasing a captured printing device enables any Macintosh client to print to an AppleTalk printer directly. However, the print jobs will not be under the administrator's control.
Print Server for Macintosh is not available on the 64-bit versions of the Windows operating systems.
