Shutdown Event Tracker is a routine part of the shutdown process, providing a way for IT professionals to uniformly document why users restart or shut down their computers. The data recorded by Shutdown Event Tracker help to create a comprehensive picture of an organization's system environment. Shutdown Event Tracker is enabled by default and supported on all Microsoft® Windows Server 2003 family operating systems. It is disabled by default and unsupported on Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional.
