Determine the ISTG role owner for a site

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

Use this procedure to view the NTDS Site Settings object properties and determine the Intersite Topology Generator (ISTG) role owner for the site.

Administrative Credentials

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Domain Users group.

To determine the ISTG role owner for a site

  1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services.

  2. Click the site object whose ISTG you want to determine.

  3. In the details pane, right-click the NTDS Site Settings object, and then click Properties. The current role owner appears in the Server box under Inter-Site Topology Generator.
