Ensure that complex pages print properly

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To ensure that complex pages print properly

To change device settings, you must have the Manage Printers permission, which is one of several printer permissions. For more information, click Related Topics.

  1. Open Printers and Faxes.

  2. Right-click the icon for the printer you are using, and then click properties.

  3. On the Device Settings tab, click Page Protection, and then click On.

When page protection is active, the printer creates the entire printed page in memory before starting to print. To use page protection, your printer must have at least 1 megabyte (MB) of optional memory available. If your printer does not support page protection, this option is not available.

Note

  • To open Printers and Faxes, click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
